Whilst staying in Positano, we ventured out on a day trip on a boat to the town of Amalfi and then took the bus up to Ravello, a small town high up in the hills. Whilst in Ravello, we headed even higher still to the famous Villa Cimbrone, a historic building and a must-see destination in the area for its gardens, but mainly for its Terrace of Infinity.
You could spend hours walking around the beautiful gardens and admiring the views on the terrace where the sea of blue goes out for miles and miles. The Villa is now a hotel and a pretty expensive one at that, but a day trip is enough to take it all in.
This had to be my second favourite place on the Amalfi coast and the boat ride over was fun, even getting pretty windswept! ;-)
One thing I did not anticipate – taking the ‘scenic’ route and walking from Ravello back down to Amalfi to catch the boat… 50 minutes and 3.5km all down STEPS later… I looked like a tomato at the end of it… Attractive, I know! ;-)
