Travel Essentials

As you might already be aware from my over excitedness in previous posts and a few tweets, I’m off on holiday! I’ll already be in Rome as this goes live so I thought it was a good opportunity to share what I’m packing to carry around with me on our little Italian road trip…

Travel EssentialsTopshop Metallic Backpack (similar) .:. ASOS Straw Hat .:. Cath Kidston Passport Holder .:. ASOS Sunglasses (similar) .:. Accessorize Sunglasses Case (similar)

First up is this cute metallic backpack from Topshop. For all of the walking around Rome and the Amalfi Coast that we’ll be doing, I thought it was essential to be comfortable as well as being able to fit my camera plus all of the other bits that I will need. And the fact that it’s metallic, is a bonus! ;-)

A straw hat will come in handy on those days that we’ll be by the beach… I always seem to burn my parting! Ouch…

A cute pink dotty passport holder from Cath Kidston, a Christmas present from my sister, is a necessary travel accessory.

My ASOS sunglasses have hardly left my face this summer… a tentative purchase at the time as they’re big and round, but I love them! And finally a tropical little soft case for my sunnies for when I’m inside or travelling…

Travel EssentialsL’Occitane Hand Cream .:. Nivea Factor 30 .:. Burts Bees Lip Balm .:. L’Occitane Lavender Hand Purifying Gel .:. Nivea Pearl Deodorant .:. Alphabet Bag Pouch

Usually I carry quite a bit around with me on a day to day basis, but carting it all around Italy is not what I wanted to do, so I’m packing the essentials. Hand cream is a must for dry hands and this L’Occitane Shea Butter one is my favourite as well as the Lavender Hand Purifying gel. OCD as I am, anti-bac is always needed and this one smells really nice.

Pocket size sun cream was on the list for those necessary re-applications during the day and the same goes for a good lip balm. I usually use Lucas Paw Paw but I’ve ran out so I’ll be testing out this Burts Bees one while I’m away. And of course, deodorant is key.

Travel EssentialsGlamour Magazine .:. Lonely Planet Rome Guide .:. iPhone & iPad

For airports, flights and car journeys, good entertainment is crucial so I’m packing magazines, a book and of course my trusty iPhone and iPad for those snippets of wifi and my iTunes movie library.

I also purchased a guide to Rome as we’ll be packing quite a few things into three days so I wanted to make sure we knew where we were going! It includes a pull out map, which will come in handy as there’ll be no 3G… fingers crossed we can find our way around, I rely on Google maps waaay too much…!

I’ve been pretty organised for this holiday, but it’s probably been because I’ve been waiting so long for it to come around! We booked it at the start of the year after all…

Ciao for now! ;-)
