A long weekend away was just what I needed and luckily for me, we had planned a 4 day trip to North Cornwall/Devon last weekend. After around 5 and a half hours in the car, we reached our destination near Bude. After finding the place we were staying at, we headed to the beach where we were told to sample the cream tea from Margaret. She has a little caravan near the beach, and boy does she pile on the jam and the cream! If I’d have known beforehand, I think I would have shared one scone as it made the walk up the hill that little bit more difficult! ;-)
For half a day in the car, I went for comfort. I picked these trousers up from H&M a couple of weeks ago and they are so easy to throw on and comfy! Paired with this pretty River Island top and my trusty denim jacket (you know it’s summer when this baby comes out!) I was good to go. For the trip to the beach, I wore my new jelly sandals which I ordered next day delivery on a whim the day before the trip… I thought salt water and leather sandals were not going to be a good mix and I’m glad I did! I did feel a bit like a 5 year old at first, even though I never owned a pair when I was younger. I’m obviously regressing and making up for it now! ;-)
Oh how I would love to be back there in today’s glorious weather! Instead I’ve been taming the garden from a years worth of weeds and over growth! A few scratches in the process, but it was worth it! Let’s hope the sun stays out to enjoy it!
What did you guys get up to over this sunny weekend?
