It’s the first of May and it’s the first time this year I haven’t been freezing, so I’m going to call it the start of Spring! It’s also the first time in what feels like a long time that I’ve felt like I can breathe… the last 10 or so weeks have been ramping up at work as I have been part of a small team working on an event that we put on at Somerset House last week. All the hard work paid off in the end, but I can safely say I’m more than happy that this weekend is a Bank Holiday so that I have a bit more time to recover!
Today, Paul and I headed off to Turvey House to meet my mum and dad and check out a Classic Car Show. It was a fairly small one compared to some of the others we’ve been to, but it was nice to wander around and catch up with my parents. I did fall in love with a replica of a vintage Raven Argonette Caravan called Betty!
We stopped off for a pub lunch at The Old Mill in Newton Blossomville (a pretty name for a very pretty village) and had one of the best roast dinners I’ve had in a long time! We walked through a Rapeseed Field and it was just so Spring-like we couldn’t resist taking a few snaps.
Last week, during one of my 12 hour days at the event, I had to rush out and buy a new pair of trainers as my feet were killing me! I’ve thoroughly taken to my new pair of comfy Converse and this weekend I can’t seem to take them off. A laid back, comfortable weekend style is what I’m going for at the moment to make everything easier and I’ve also fallen a little bit in love with this simple Satin Bomber Jacket.
All in all it’s been a lovely weekend so far and I’m very happy that the weather seems to be warming up now!
Hope you’re all enjoying your Bank Holiday!
