When I had a few days off work back at the start of August (I can’t believe it’s September already…), the Boy and I set off to explore an area of London that we never really venture to: Greenwich. Apart from a couple of trips to the O2, I’ve never actually explored that part of London and I was pleasantly surprised. The buildings, parks and museums are all so lovely, I can’t believe I didn’t know about them sooner!
After grabbing a breakfast bagel and a large coffee to go from a nearby bakery, we took our breakfast into the grounds of Greenwich Univerisity to enjoy outside. The buildings around the university are so grand with their large rows of columns and stone exterior, that we almost felt abroad on such a sunny warm day. It was so warm in fact that another pair of shorts warranted an outing!
I bought these shorts to take to Italy and I really like the colour and fit of these so they’re already on my packing pile ready to be popped in my suitcase. I was tempted to get another pair (in cream here), but I’ve already packed another three pairs of shorts so I thought that might be a bit excessive! ;-)
For the rest of our day, we wandered around the Maritime Museum and up the hill to the Planetarium. The view was amazing from just walking up what seemed like a fairly small hill. Well worth it on a nice day.
I’m holding on to summer for a little bit longer… just another 3 weeks until I get back from my holiday… then Autumn really can start!
