Here is another instalment of our trip to Ireland. On our second day, we hit Dublin, the first stop being the city centre, checking out the old post office, ‘the needle’ and the bands that play on the main shopping strip. We didn’t have much time to explore the shops (maybe a good thing for my bank account) but all the usuals were on the high street, with Primark being called Penney’s over there!
.:St Stephen’s Green:.
We walked through St Stephen’s Green, a Victorian public park, which was away from the hustle and bustle of the centre. A pretty place to chill out in the summer if you’re ever there!
I love a good tea and cake occasion, so Bewley’s could not have been missed off our trip to Dublin! It has been open on Grafton Street since 1927 so the influences of that era are still very apparent there. The windows are hand painted and the decor is probably still fairly original. It’s a cafe serving all day food, but we opted for hot chocolate and a cake… my lemon meringue pie was pretty good! I would definitely recommend a visit!
